Grayson Whitehurst is an unusual filmmaker…his voice defies categorization yet is entirely unmistakable. Viewing storytelling as a means of escapism, he creates wholly unique worlds driven by unforgettable characters caught in strange and surreal narratives. Although dark in tone, his work is sensitive and often playfully unexpected – he takes a great deal of pleasure in taking audiences on a journey that leaves them moved, confused, and conflicted.

He was recently named one of thirty one directors in the 2022 SHOOT Magazine New Directors Showcase, and his most recent advertising work has been featured by Directors Notes, Berlin Commercial, Little Black Book, 1.4 Awards, and Shiny Awards. Other commercial work has broadcast nationally (Mastercard “Experience More”), his web series content has gone viral (Spectacular Organic), and his narrative work has won awards at festivals spanning the globe.

Grayson is a listener – a constant observer of the bizarre undertow that permeates everyday life; those moments you can’t quite put into words. A string of devastating tragedies from his childhood developed an empathetic and adaptive nature that makes him a special director.
